i'm itching to have some time to sit and make in peace. yesterday i didn't have it. but i sewed at the kitchen table anyway. i had grand plans of many wonderful patchy little skirts.

um. this is all i ended up with. i'm glad she has pants on!

friday again

how did that happen? a whole week just flew by.

hmmmm...... and im awake after midnight for the first time in quite awhile. ive been falling asleep in the kids beds lately. i cant resist their wanting to be snuggled to sleep. and then i find my way back to my own bed at about this time. only to be found again in a few hours time by amelie and sometimes veda. i want,//.. but i think maybe I also need a king sized bed.

why , when i go to post here do i always start talking about sleep. ? weird.

anyway. off the sleep topic.

tonight i watched the pursuit of happyness with will smith and his son. ive borrowed it at least three times to watch, and tonight i finally did , so hooray for me, and it was sad and i liked it. but yes..it was sad. and made me want to go bundle up my kids and not let go. ever.

im having a letting go dilemna with the kids i think. they are growing so fast, how am i ever going to let them go. this week veda went to camp for two nights...the longest ive ever been away from her in her nine years, and luckily i was distracted by the blissfull arrival of my sister and her gorgeous baby girl.... or i would definitely have been a mental case...or i would have driven to the camp...which was just down the road ;-) .

on the making front, i did manage a new gocco print of a raining little happy cloud. i made it just the right size to make little cloud badges. hang on i will see if i have a photo to show you.. oh nope,, i did have a photo but blogger is having a problem with uploading photos...will show you another day.

i started writing a book tonight. a novel. when its finished i will let you know ;-)

oh dear... i know.... i have a serious unable to stay focused on one thing problem. its fun though.

oh here we go ...blogger is happy again....my photo worked...here are my little cloud badges. a bit cute i think. now what will i do with them? im thinking little cloud printed tshirts too.

outside my kitchen window is this tree, and in this tree sat my new bird friend. so bright and beautiful. there are two of them...rosellas? they have decided to call my garden home for now. thankyou !

i caught a glimpse of what's yet to come

so its been a crazy month (or year or two) here.. and finally the move has happened from gigantic farm to our own relatively little farm and dairy. a little breath out. a cow kicked murray and nearly broke his elbow..but apart from that... the dairy worked last night for the first time with the blessings of a new moon im sure. it then poured rain just for a bit. which my new plants enjoyed. yesterday i went plant shopping to avoid cleaning our house. sensible i agree.

and today our house plans arrived by email coincidentally. im enjoying watching the way energy moves in out and around me.

seeing all the kids things scattered and uncared for in their rooms is irritating me so much i think i may drive to melbourne for a day to get some way of storing them properly. the fact that my own bedroom is resembling a storage unit with a bed plonked on top is not very good either...considering how much we need peaceful sleep at the moment.. and considering how much i am not getting it. a bit difficult with a three year old amelie that loves to sleep on top of me...preferably my head. and if i try to go sleep somewhere else..she knows i have moved and either yells or comes to find me in the dark of the night. love.

lunch time. kids home from school of course. and you know what? today i was digging in the garden at about 8am of course... planting baby carrots and tomatoes...and i dug a hole with a hand shovel and out jumped a frog! scared the hell out of me!

one more thing

just before i go to hopefully get some zzzzzzzzzzzzzz , my boy called me tonight telling me to go outside to see the sun. and see it i did.

nine years old

and party they did. eight awesome nine year old girls + one groovy six year old brother. . one microphone, the calfs in the front paddock, many glowsticks, eating of dangling donuts , a few movies, cupcakes and jokes, and these eight unique, beautiful , bright sparkling angels did not get anywhere near sleepland until 2 am ! ! ! impressive i reckon.
veda had a wonderful wonderful time.. . she floated around .. she is a lucky girl, but even luckier are we- her family, because we got Veda.

i think our clothes are going to become very holey very quickly.
my focus has just reduced down to a 25mm size.
this is probably a perfectly good thing at the moment.

the collector

i have two more machine type things in our house. i dont have a new room to put them in . . but hopefully that is coming. ( i have moved some boxes to the garage so i had some space to fill ;-)

.. i found a typewriter at the op shop for $3.00 . i really love the sound of a typewriter clicking away. and the kids love it also. the letters they type are wonderfully fun to read (for me). and they play with it like a musical instrument too.

and .. the other one is pictured above. a badge making machine. and my goodness.. its nearly up there with gocco type fun. its highly addictive....rather than looking for every possible paper to print on, we are looking for various pictures to make into badges. and the kids LOVE it too. its so much fun to go on these adventures.. with the kids. veda and sindri are at a great age to play these games with. sindri photocopies his pokemon cards and has made himself a nice assortment of badges and veda has made a little botanical group that is now pinned to her high school musical tshirt...lol. oh the fun. amelie hasnt found the badge maker yet. she was asleep when it was unpacked and is now munching on some pita pizza. im sure she will find it soon enough....it will be interesting to see what her ideas are for a badge.

the badge maker is something ive been spying for awhile now...but ive always thought that they were so crazily expensive. and they are. but i am crazy. and its vedas slumber party in two more sleeps. and how much badge making fun are we going to have? i picked up three boxes from the post office today. so. much. fun. i'll tell you about the other boxes another day.

the rainbows and my family have been visiting. we are lucky.

and just in case....keep the badge maker a secret from any party attendees ok ;-) x
