o christmas tree

the kids couldnt wait. . the presents are wrapped...santa has come and gone many times and a christmas tree was made from a tablecloth.

the garage sale is on! this saturday at my mums. the kids have (tried) to empty their rooms of unwanted toys and clothes. veda has calculated she will make $200 in sales...enough for a nintendo ds. lol..i tried to explain the idea of pricing and bargain hunting. . she didn't like it.

i look forward to less-ness :-)

Sunday

space

so i've been home three days and i'm already feeling irritated. i know what the problem is. it's all the STUFF in this house. there's no room to move...for energy to flow. so i'm in need of a few lists. a christmas list. a people i want to catch up with sooner rather than any later than it already has been.. list. and i need some boxes..lots of them i would say. a garage sale has been the suggestion as a solution to my STUFF problem. the thought of emptying this house makes me feel better. imagine if and when i actually do empty it. god.

the kids are hanging out to decorate the house and then wrap up its contents. i'm holding them off until december 1st. how much fun. :-)

the 2500 km holiday

above: a beautiful merry go round in canberra
So we have returned from what was meant to be a relaxing holiday at the beach.

Here we are living on an extremely dry piece of land...and we get to the beach and it pours rain. It was freezing cold. I appreciate that the weather seems to be getting very upset with the way humans are treating earth...but really.. some sunshiney days for our holiday is not a huge ask is it? That wasn't really the problem truthfully anyway. We were searching for something that we probably couldn't find anywhere. The kids though. They had a great time. Of course..because that's one of the cool things about being a kid. You don't worry about all the stuff. You let go. You find every pillow and cushion in the house and you build yourself a new house.

So we are home. And it is so hot. The garden fried while we were gone. Milly and Spotty our cats almost fried too. We got home just in time to love them back to health (I'm hoping).

Sindri has taught himself how to count big numbers...it started with the speed signs we saw on our holiday. Yesterday for the first time he said..Oh so nan nan lives at 66...as we pulled up at her house. He feels so clever. It makes me smile :-)

Tonight I henna - ed my foot. mehndi. Oh my god I love it. Henna on my body that is. The design well it started off indian looking and ended up australian bush flowers. Which may be the flower essences I'm taking, manifesting into a henna design on my foot. hee hee silly me.

I'm going to bed it's 10 to 1am. goodnight.

Friday

the night before

Last summer I grew these amazingly beautiful giant sunflowers in my garden. Like flower people they stood and danced and had this awesome presence. I have scattered their seeds hoping some may sprout this summer.

So tomorrow we go on holidays to the beach. The kids are very ..very.. excited. Even Amelie remembers our last beach holiday...she had just turned 2. She's ready to go boogie boarding ..jeepers. I'm fine with that as long as the life guard is on duty. The ocean scares me as well as soothes me. Strange it can do that.

Veda and Sindri, well their concern has been what the bedding arrangements will be in our cabin. Funny that..since they are compulsive bed makers. They make beds everywhere and for everyone and everything....from toys to bugs to people to animals.... and is all sizes from giant to miniature. So yes...I have a present wrapper and bed makers.

If I could make something right now I would make this stiff neck go away. I went to the doctor today which was totally useless. I was hoping for a miracle cure and didn't get one. So now I wish for myself a miraculously healing deep happy sleep.

Tuesday

too early

at 6am Amelie opens her eyes and starts whineing-seriously it's a high pitched whine... for me to get up and get her some food- porridge or bubbles (rice) or pancakes-wishful thinking unless its Sunday! I try everything to not have to get up...but she gets louder and louder and then wakes up Sindri and Veda. Grrr. . And as beautiful as the view can be out my bedroom window.. with the sun shining through our wattle tree...I'd rather not see it at that time of day. Not regularly anyway. By 10am I am so grumpy. My current stiff neck and shoulder isn't helping. A divine green curry at the Thai restaurant tonight might help ;-).
The Melbourne Cup gave Veda a legitimate reason to be home today with us...no kids went to school. the kids have spent most of the day colouring pokemon pictures. . . me, I can almost smell the sea breeze ...........aaaaaaaaahhhhhh.

Monday

Happy 69th Birthday

a present for Nan Nan wrapped beautifully by my little present wrapping expert.

Sunday

Happy right feet last year

Uh-oh...last year I made the kids a christmas stocking each. They are a bit patchwork, a bit felt, a few jingle bells (so they could hear santa filling them) not!, and the kids love them.
Well, they already have their stockings out. . . first week of November. Veda went on an excursion to the post office last week and saw the big bag where all the letters for santa go. And then apparently the postmen or postwomen know where to deliver it. Wow! Murray thought that maybe the elves come to collect the mail after dark. Very exciting! They haven't played the wrap everything in the house-up game yet. Although its a game they play usually...not just at Christmas time. How Amelie especially loves to wrap presents. Then she covers them in spotty stickers and gives the presents..usually to Veda.
Firstly we will have our holiday at the beach and then we can let the Christmas fun begin.

Wednesday

my family

so this is my family :-) animals and all. we don't have the chooks anymore...they made too much mess unfortunately as they were free range. it's a pity because the hen had little chicks at one stage which was the cutest thing to see. the pony is locked in a yard because he is a bit naughty. his name is hopscotch. and we have all grown a bit bigger since this picture.
there haven't been many rainbows lately either due to the non appearance of rain. luckily we have three beautiful kids who bring more colour than any rainbow :-) finding all these photos of my drawings and paintings...i have to think...now WHERE is that picture? ...they are all in folders, piles, behind cupboards and doors... I soooo need a studio-room-space of my own. It's coming I can feel it.
